Coyote Farm

Coyote Farm is a working artist studio and our family home. The house and barn structure are circa 1800's built New England style cottage. Hand hewn beams fashioned over two century's ago remain visible in the corners of the rooms providing simple reminders of our farm's rural past. The wooden floors are worn to bare wood in most of our house by a decade of indoor running games orchestrated by our son Jacy with his like-minded pack of working sled dogs.

Looking through the north side window of my studio I can watch our blue-eyed Arab/Paint mare, Tai lope around in our backyard. The outdoor kennel for our seven sled dogs (two now retired) stands in view directly below the studio's westerly exposed window. For most of the day the dogs choose to live indoors so while I'm painting, drawing or making artist cards I have either one or all of them playing or sleeping near and around my working tables.

The sled dog's passion for life and running is contagious and their never-ending supply of strength and optimism provides constant motivation for personal creativity. Our dogs bestow upon the family an open, honest and raw animal energy that inspires the spirit of life and work on Coyote Farm.

"If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die, I want to go where they went." ~Will Rogers
